At some point, they crossed paths with pyrotechnician John Sherman Watkins.

As a lifelong rock fan, he spent years going to concerts before eventually finding his way into the industry.John started working security for Bill Graham Presents, but he wanted to do more. He wanted to be involved with the sound, lights, production, and special effects. That opportunity came in 1979 when he began working on special effects for KISS during the Dynasty Tour.
